Today's inspiration is another classic movie made from a novel, and one of my absolute favourite comfort reads (and watches.) The movie with the evanescent Marilyn Monroe is simply wonderful. The book, written by Anita Loos is even better. If you don't know a whole lot about Anita Loos, do check her out. She was a woman writing burst-at-the-seems funny scripts and novels in Hollywood in an era when men still considered women not to be funny. She was an amazing person in her own right and Lorelei was one of her best creations. Monroe was made for the part. Whenever I want inspiration for writing dialogue, all I have to do is watch or read something by Anita Loos.
